The Atlantic Coastal Fish Habitat Partnership (ACFHP) received funding from the National Fish Habitat Partnership (NFHP) for ACFHP operations and two habitat restoration projects. Both habitat restoration projects receiving FY14 NFHP funding, through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, are oyster reef restoration projects. Oyster Reef and Salt Marsh Habitat Restoration, Stump Sound, Holly Ridge, NC will restore and protect fringing oyster reef and tidal salt marsh in the North Carolina Coastal Federation’s Morris Landing Clean Water Preserve in Holly Ridge, North Carolina. Oyster Reef Restoration, Great Bay Estuary, Rockingham County, NH will restore oyster reefs as a cooperative effort of The Nature Conservancy and the University of New Hampshire to expand the spawner sanctuary network in the Great Bay Estuary in Rockingham County, New Hampshire. ACFHP selected these projects for funding because they contribute to the conservation of coastal, estuarine-dependent, and diadromous fish habitat.
